Why not Art Briles are Bobby Petrino?

Guys people deserve second chances and we all make mistakes. They are both better coaches than Jimbo Fisher are Tom Herman IMO.

Petrino has 1 more wear with Lamar Jackson and a 10M buyout. That's why no Petrino.

Petrino had more than a second chance at multiple stops.
Briles is damaged goods. Plain and simple. Perception is reality especially in the now generation of social media where word gets out fast and opinions are formed quick.

Not everyone deserves a second chance. If they hire one of them, they're willfully gambling with their own jobs. They aren't going to do that. Alleva can survive a bad hire, but he can't survive hiring Petrino or Briles and things going badly.

Guys that make mistakes get second chances at schools where less is on the line. If the head coach at LSU went down the way Briles did at Baylor or Petrino did at Arkansas, it would hurt our program way more.

Petrino has made a lot more than one mistake. Ask the Falcon players just what a swell coach he is. Ask Tubby how he felt when Petrino tried to stab him in the back by meeting with AU's A.D. while Tubs was still HC: Tubs had hired him to work on his staff previously. "Better coaches"? Jimbo has won a NC. Herman helped UM win one at O.State. What has Petrino or Briles ever won? Having great offenses gets you exactly where all the teams in the Big 12 are now: zero titles.

IMO we'll be looking for a guy that can actually coach on the field AND has character. I have heard multiple baby boomers that are 30+ year ticket holders and serious donors say that they would reconsider their allegiances if we went after Briles or Petrino.

Briles has more baggage than the rape issue. He's hot the same ethical issues as kiffen and is a death penalty waiting to happen.

Mullen is 44
Gus is 50
Sumlin is 52
Bobby Petrino is 55
Art Briles is 60
We need younger
Tom Herman is 41
Jimbo Fisher is 50
Lane Kiffin is 41
Kliff Kingsbury is 37
D.J. Durkin is 38
Dave Aranda is 39
This is where LSU should look. Give Coach O a shot first.
