All the predictions I have read Coach O is out. Why? I wouldn't mind him getting a chance to be DC

Rumors are that he is staying unless he gets a HC job.

He hasn't had a chance to get that straight. The line is severely lacking in depth and big bodies.

Umm, "usually" the HC has quite a bit of input on who his coaches and coordinators are.
Umm, who is the HC next season?

Not necessarily , the HC doesn't sign the paycheck.
IMO he needs to stay on the staff in some aspect.

I'd take a coordinator position anywhere in the south vs a head coaching position at Syracuse. The reason are numerous.

no new coach in their right mind would take the LSU coach but be told they had to keep a current staff member or coach. They have cart blanch.

u wont get a great coach if he is saddled with people he may not want. Think about it. NS started from scratch at bama. No one stayed. Whoever you get will have the same power to clean house. He may chose to keep O but it will most definitely be his choice

Bebe and Frank Wilson are elite recruiters, I don't see how any new coach would be mad if their were still here. They are not OC/DC coaches so they can be part of the fold and you can still bring in enough of your guys to fill the staff.

The worst part of TD is all the folks that don't really understand football making authoritative statements.

Coach O has been here for less than year. Without even a full year of recruiting yet and with very thin talent and depth on the DL, your basic complaint is really that he is not a miracle worker.

He would be sorely missed.

Mr Broker gets it. A new coach stepping into a good situation would probably be wise to try to keep a couple holdovers, especially strong recruiters because they have established relationships/networks with local HS coaches and upcoming talent. At the same time, the boss has to have a staff with people he's comfortable with, meshing personalities, etc
