mike gundy- really

Not gonna happen. They got to say something than what others keep saying.
Posted on 9/28/16 at 5:56 pm to zed44
Because our last coach came from there and I guess they are running out of angles to take. Its not gonna happen

Mike Gundy has a better record there than Les did... But also, it's Mike Gundy's alma mater, so would he even be interested in leaving?
Posted on 9/28/16 at 6:02 pm to zed44
Because he wants out of Ok St, and obviously LSU would be a big step up. And they think LSU won't land any of the top names. Also Alleva is probably dumb enough to do it.

Some people leave their alma mater. Some don't. LSU may be offer enough, or no amount of money would convince Gundy to leave. When dealing with someone at their alma mater, you just never really know

He wouldn't make my top 10. Don't understand it.

He's aggressive, does a decent job of developing quarterbacks, and has taken a school that hasn't been a power in their conference and made them competitive on a yearly basis.
You could do a lot worse

His name came up when UF was looking as well. No biggie

Yes.
Gundy is nowhere near the top of my wish list, but he'd be able to take the talent LSU has and win 10+ games a year with it.
Hell, I'd be okay with 8-9 wins a year and a couple of SEC championship spike years, as long as it's not painful to watch week in and week out.

Everyone so far has said no to Gundy but you guys are all for Coach O who has a terrible record as HC.
Posted on 9/28/16 at 7:33 pm to zed44
Because they're stupid.
Les was our 3rd or 4th option in 2005. And the program is in better shape today.
Now we have better facilities, better recruits, more money, and 3+ months to get it right. frick these stupid lower tier mentions. And frick Gundy's stupid hair.

"You guys" -- can you point out where I've supported coach O as the head coach of LSU?
Furthermore, I didn't say 'no' to Gundy. He's not my top choice, but he would probably be able to succeed to a degree at LSU.

Scroll through 90% of the threads. Most think O should get the job or be a serious candidate if he does real well.

People are excited Les is gone. They haven't had "new" in 12 years. O dropped some sexy soundbites addressing gripes the fanbase had with Les. Give it time.

I get what you're saying, but if you reply to someone it's pretty natural they'd think you're replying to them and their opinions.
I'm not against Gundy (though LSU can do better) and I'm not for O ...
