LSU should totally do an HC in waiting on this one.

Get Pep Hamilton, let him know he'll have a real shot at getting the HC job in 2-3 years and let him pick his staff.

Whatever school decides to foolishly hire him, perhaps he will retain Cam for his OC

Gonna be interesting to see who he takes with him to Illinois.

Here's what frustrates me.

I've seen Ralph Freigen find ways to get inferior players in positions to succeed at Rutgers. I know, for certain, that he (or a coach of his caliber) could transform the LSU offense, year one.

I can't fault Miles for the Kragthorpe / Studrawa debacle; that was a health issue. I can't fault Miles for Cameron, since his buddy was had a decent reputation with an NFL pedigree.

In the end, though, there are probably 20-25 coaches who could have run the LSU offense far better than what we've seen since '09.

Illinois is an interesting prospect for him, but I could really see him at Missouri. That is, if he coaches next year.

Chip Kelly

With the $15 million in savings from not having to pay the buyout, they will instead put that toward Chip's salary as he get the OC, assistant HC, and HCIW titles

Since Chip hates recruiting, this will work out perfectly since the HCIW penalty wouldn't matter

Speaking of retaining coaches, hopefully he takes Pevato and Steele with him too. Gotta keep the buddy system alive, you know...

Yeah, he is a fat bastard, isn't he? I'm hoping he gets promoted when Flood goes.

The point remains, though. There are coaches out there who could step in and get the LSU offense rolling next year. That caliber of coach has been available for a few years now, but Les has been too stubborn and too loyal to go that route.

what? Crowton, Krag, and Cameron all came from strong offensive philosophies....

Krag had the health scare which hurt LSU but Crowton was coming off being the Oregon OC and Cameron was out of the NFL.
