Who is Bama's HCIW Lane or Kirby?

No way one of those doesn't get the job. Lane has shown he can get it done on the field. Saban has created an environment or culture of discipline that will be sustainable. Look how Les rode his success. Lane > Les But Kirby has been groomed to be the guy. I guarantee that Kirby was told bringing Lane on wouldn't change that. Kirby is your guy.

Dabo goes to Bama as HC after Saban

Neither Lane nor Kirby will be at Bama in 2016.

Clemson is a destination job. Dabo not leaving.

Kirby will be if he is still here when Saban retires

Neither of them will be a head coach at Alabama. If anything, Kirby gets hired away at South Carolina to be there head coach.

Clemson can be a destination job, but not if someone from Bama has a chance to coach there.

Clemson is in the hunt for a natty. He has done the work to build a program. Not everybody is whore like Saban. Dabo stays.

What...
Dabo was born in Alabama, played at Alabama, and even got his first coaching jobs at Alabama.
Not saying it would be him, but the ties are definitely there.

I think the only job he would leave Clemson for is bama but at this point I don't think he will ever leave. He has a chance to become a legend if he stays there and brings them a championship.

I guarantee you Dabo would leave Clemson for Bama. He has told that to several former teammates. But as I said in another thread if Kirby doesn't leave after this season it means he's been promised the job when Saban leaves.

Probably Dabo. He was asked the question this past off-season by someone he grew up with in Pelham and who went to Bama with him and he said "how could I not take the job if it was ever offered? it's been my dream job since I got into coaching".
That was obviously before Clemson put themselves in their current position. He may have changed his mind. His sons pretty much only know Clemson. That IS college football to them. That said, his family and wife's family are still in Bama. They both got their degrees from Bama. Bama could pay much more than Clemson.
If he continues to succeed then he will be the odds on favorite to get the job whenever that time comes.

Which would be a mistake. No one knows what Smart can do. All successful coaches start at lower schools and work their way up.

FIFY. Dabo will be Bama's next coach

There was an odd article recently about Dabo and Bama, with quotes from it about it from their own AD.
Sounded like he knew it's gonna be hard if Momma calls.
And I'm not anti-Dabo, he's wouldn't have to rebuild Bama post Saban if he were to be the next coach. He'd have to maintain it, and he's shown he can flock the talent. Dominance may slip, but his coordinators matter too.
I'm the best option type, if Dabo is, hire him. If there's a bigger name out there, go for him instead.

Clemson, the school, has always had a relationship with Atlanta high schools. The recruiting was there with Tommy B. I would be worried about Dabo's lack of recruiting MS. Saban has supplemented with that south LA talent. Dabo won't have that same connections. He could be another Les Miles. Just ride what Saban built.

At some point though, that relationship has to rub off on Dabo, being a face they've seen for the last 10+ years.
Mississippi is hard to penetrate consistently for Saban, don't think Clemson can draw that state in general.
Again, it comes down to his coaches and relationships. Guys like Mario Cristobal, Lane Kiffin, and Tosh Lupoi have given Bama roots in places Saban usually couldn't pipeline in South Florida, California, and the Northeast.
I would say Dabo has Jeff Scott, but he's Clemson bred and might end up being a favorite for that job if Dabo does bolt in the next 5 years.
I don't think anyone will be able to come in an reel off 3 NCs in a short time post Saban, but I don't think expectation will be that high either. Now if the HC starts reeling off sub 10 win seasons, he might feel some heat.

A legend like Danny Ford? Dabo would pack his bags the minute Saban retired.

lol, anyone who hires him as a HC is out of his mind. Grossly overrated.
