Wife is from there, coached at various schools in the state for years including UT.

So pretty much majority of his coaching life has been in Texas. Makes sense I guess.

He isn't from Texas

He coached WR at Texas Luthern
Was a grad assistant at UT
WR/ST at Sam Houston State
OC at Texas State
And OC at Rice before he went to Iowa State(OC) and Ohio State(OC)
His wife is from California

All of this. I mean OSU fans called him 'Texas' Tom. He obviously has great connections inside the state from looking at the resume. He can go into any city in Texas and probably tell a story about when was there previously

Feldman said yesterday it's as close to a guarantee as you can get he ends up with the horns

im starting to concede herman to tx. saban came out of the blue, but in my 43 yrs of being an lsu fan, we've (fans) never really gotten the guy we primarily targeted (sans rein, and I was too young to know what his credential were)

If Strong hadn't sucked against Cal Herman may well be going to LSU (although if USC opened that may have changed things). LSU is a great job, but he has REAL connections to those 2 schools, whereas he has a college roommate who is the DC at LSU now (which is a huge connection)

it could be, unless he asks him to come to Texas with him... that would suck

I really don't get why someone would choose Texas over LSU at this moment. Texas is a disaster which will have to be rebuilt while LSU is ready to win it all next year

Not really. Texas has a true freshman QB who is awesome. LSUs QBs are a fricking disaster.

All correct, except it's Cal Lutheran and not Texas Lutheran. Home of the Kingston in Thousand Oaks, CA. He grew up very near there in Simi Valley, CA.

when choosing to be a head coach at a university, one doesn't only look at the QB situation. There are a few other things like who your boss is, etc.....administration stability
