Freakin this... Jimbo would be a rockstar hire...what are these guuys thinking? The only coaches i would take over him are Saban (lol) and mayyyyybe Chip Kelly.
I'd take Urban over Fisher but not Saban. Maybe Saban 5 years ago but honestly, how much longer do we think he coaches? There are several coaches out there that would make good coaches but Fisher is a home-run and if we can get him, we should.
BTW - I know I'm dreaming and this comparison just assumes we'd have a realistic shot at getting any of these guys. I know we have 0% chance at Urban or Saban, maybe 5% chance for Kelly, but I think we have a reasonable shot at Fisher given where he is in his career and the fact that he was our OC for 7 years.

It might not be a deal breaker. I just can guarantee that it's going to be part of the conversation. Moving an ex would be too.
This hire is just more complicated than numbers.

If Jimbo was still married, it would make the move much more likely

Yes, don't you know he just materialized out of thin air?

In the ACC. How do you think Ponder and Manuel would have performed against Bama's defense or even LSU's
Which Bama defense? 2011? Or the 2014 version that got ripped to pieces by Nick fricking Marshall and damn near got beat by LSU with Anthony Jennings? News flash, Bama is just 1 team, There are not 14 versions of that D in the SEC.

Bama is the Genesis of this whole ordeal. If you don't think Jimbo can beat Saban more often than not, he isn't the guy for the job

then why did all this talk come up after Arkansas and not Bama?
its because he is like 19-13 in the SEC in the last 4 years

If that is the standard, then we might as well cancel the program. I can only think of 3 coaches in all of US football that are even in Saban's zip code and they are not leaving New England, Seattle or Ohio State for LSU. No one is or will beat Saban more often than not, but you don't have to, you just to beat him and then lose no more than 1 other game in the SEC to win the West and make the playoff.
And keep in mind, Fisher is 50, Saban is 64.

They were ready to kick him out the door before the 2013 season but having a Heisman QB saved his job.
They won the Orange Bowl in 2012...

Yes, Jennings led LSU to an incredible 13 points with OT
While going 8/26 for 76 yards.
All Jennings

why don't read the context cochise. He asked how Christian Ponder, who became a first round pick under Jimbo would do vs Bama's D since he played in the ACC. My retort is that, if LSU can damn near beat Bama with Jennings, I'm feel confident that we could beat them with a QB like Ponder but it also depends on the year. All Bama defenses are not created equal. The 2011 D was a n epic all time D. This year's looking better and better each week. Last year had holes, which Auburn and ultimately OSU blew apart.

I did read the context, and the example you used was idiotic.
That Bama defense dominated the lsu offense you used as an example. They held LSU to under 3 yards per pass. So yes, that Bama defense
Derp

Then you didn't read the context or you are seriously lacking in reading comprehension skills.
Let me lay it our for you, I WAS NOT arguing that LSU's O was great against Bama or that Jennings was good (you act like his stat line vs Bama was different from his other games BTW) just that IF WE HAD A BETTER QB, LIKE PONDER, we could have beaten them. He asked what Ponder would do vs Bama, I see no reason to think, depending on the year, that he wouldn't do well jeez.

Then you should have said beat Bama instead of bringing up a game where Bama's D was great and a game where they weren't.
Jennings didn't amost beat Bama's D, LSU almost beat Bama (because of our D performance)

Because I'm not an idiot and it was worse than almost every other game.

miles got off to an easier start b/c he was handed a program stocked with saban-quality talent and he was forced to keep a jimbo-quality coach jimbo had neither advantage at FSU
Well he had been recruiting his offensive players for 4 years by then. It wasnt like he was starting fresh at that point. FSU had multiple highly rated classes before and after he became OC. FSU was loaded, like always.

Ha. Belichick, Harbaugh, Bruce Arians, Carroll, and probably Sexy Rexy could do the same or better with Sabans resources at this stage.
Tomlin, Fox, Reid and others are close to the conversation too.

With the exception of three plays, our defense played well against Arkansas. Also, Kate Upton wouldn't be on the cover of the swimsuit edition if she didn't have tits. Guess what? Jimbo brought Winston to FSU just the same that Steele's Defense shite the bed against Arkansas and Kate Upton has a huge rack.
