imagine you are young and one of the very best at what you do. your boss is dumber than you in every way and you are better than him at every single thing you do. you learn nothing from him. why would you want to work for someone like that? it was a very reasonable fear

He obviously doesn't think like you. I guess he's a pretty smart guy.

Les Miles was a great coach, I don't know what happened to him though. Maybe he became complacent, maybe he started to feel pressure and became too hands on, maybe he because too hands off, maybe Alabama is that good.... Don't know but I wouldn't call him an idiot when at one point you could argue he was the greatest coach in Tigers history.

If Aranda bolts, buy out O's contract and start over before they waste all of our time.

He got paid an incredible amount of money for a coordinator - likely more than he could've made elsewhere. He's smart to stay. No need to move family, make more money, and continue to do very well. Sets himself up for a great future.

That is why he was given the associate hc position and a large raise. He also knows that, if O doesn't work out, he is in line for HC job.

Also, he may respect O as an elder and someone with experience. You know some brilliant young men still know there are things to be learned from the experience of an elder.

I was never a proponent of O but he and Aranda may get along. He may see that O learned some things the hard way. He may see that he could bypass a lot of that heartache by watching and learning from an elder.

I would imagine that coach o will help aranda with recruiting. So, aranda can learn something from coach o.
