Texas may have a hard time making the championship games the 2 years that the Tigers whip their asses in the home and home that we have in a few years. Fact is, none of us know how well either Herman or O will do with wins and losses. This post was about my opinion that Herman is an over-hyped good young coach that will not realize his potential as fast as many of you think he will, his 2016 team was inconsistent playing in a crap league, and that I really don't like his offense for LSU or the SEC.

That's fine, but you have to at least acknowledge that O is as big, if not a bigger risk to be a massive failure.

Herman will have Texas competing for a conference championship before LSU is.

I disagree.

I think he's a very good coach.

How about we wait and see before everyone jumps off a cliff? The same opposing fans laughing are the same ones who were laughing when some here said Herman would be really good. The narrative then was he was unproven and had inexplicable losses. Since he played lsu to get the texas job now he's gonna be the next great one??

Right. Let's see how recruiting finishes and compare the staffs after signing day. I bet there's gonna be no comparison and it won't be in Herman's favor

I am not saying he is a bad coach, instead I am saying that I don't think he has the style of play or the proven track record for many of your to idolize him as a can't miss coach.

Orgeron's track record somehow makes him better?

What's so "Stupid" about what the OP wrote? Sounds full of fact to me. I have a friend's Son on the Houston team...we did dodge a built with Herman. You will see that quickly at Texas.
You will be the stupid one.

I don't disagree, but that's also a much easier feat considering the level of competition. I also expect him to have good offensive success for the same reason.

That's not to say Herman isn't a good coach. It's just the situation as it is.

Herman was never going to come here. We were nothing more than negotiation fodder. Texas was his dream job. I am willing to give O and these new coordinators a chance. We might very well be surprised.

While Bama fans are easily the most douchey of all sportsfans, LSU fans have proven to be the dumbest....

This to me is the best voice of reason in this whole scenario. I wish the Orgeron detractors would adopt this view. Be skeptical, that's fine. I'm certainly not saying everyone should jump on board and do cartwheels over the man. But at least give him a chance. It's not like any of us have any say in the matter anyway, so we might as well all pull for him to succeed.

I'm very encouraged going into next year with the two coordinators we have onboard.
