I think Fuente is a really good offensive coach.
It might not translate to winning in a sustained or meaningful way at Va Tech, but it's not an odd or unusual hire.

Supposedly, they are looking at both him and Bill Clark. Both would be solid hires for them.
If they get this one right, they have a shot to become a feeder program where young coaches want to go and prove themselves. Considering that the last time a UM coach met a fate other than firing or passing before their time was in the early 70s, that is a big step up.

He's knows the program from working with Fuente, so he is a great choice, in my opinion. The only advantage Clark has is HC experience.

Great get and runs a pretty damn good pro style offense. If whoever we get doesn't work out, I'd like him in 3 years provided he makes Virginia Tech at least decent.

If Bud Foster stays for defense and just gets another pay raise, Virginia Tech is going to OWN in a few years and I'm not talking bout the Oprah Network. Odom leaving messed up Memphis's defense and that was their problem this year. Their offense is legit.
