This is like the late 90's Dallas Cowboys: Overconfident GM tries to make a point that anyone and anything can win a Super Bowl with the players he assembled.

Mike McCarthy had the 32nd ranked offense with the 49ers before he was hired by Green Bay. Maybe he's a good coach but the talent on his team sucks.

Does this mean that Terry Joseph follows him from A&M?

Again, he had two elite QBs to work with in GB, making his life a hell of a lot easier

Personally I think MM is an awful coach that owes his living to Arod. They seem to go completely defunct on offense for stretches on end. Which is inexcusable for them

A career DB coach with one year of coordinator experience? And no, Vance is not the next Tomlin. Very curious hire. I wonder if Wade is retiring.

Don't care as long as he doesn't try to take our coach to come work for him.

Yes it does, but I'll continue being hopeful until proven otherwise.

As long as Phillips stays the defense will continue to be top tier, he (Joseph) better not pull a McDaniels and screw the pooch though. A decent OC and QB will right the ship as long as VJ doesn't rock the boat too much.

Pretty weird hire when you have Phillips.

Man, I wish the Saints would throw a checkbook at Wade.

Saints should pay Wade Phillips $1 more than Sean Payton.
