Would UT really part ways with Mack Brown if they didn't have a plan already in place ? This is the only thing that leads me to believe CNS to UT.

I think saban goes but yes, if they didn't fire him their fans would completely boycott the program every it fan I know absolutely hates Mack brown

I have a feeling this was all wrapped up days, maybe even weeks ago. UT may be a lot of things, but stupid is not one of them.

The radio silence from Saban must be wrenching hearts in Alabama.

No. They'd let him stay. Only way they run him out is if they have a home run hire done (ie Saban or Gruden)

Seems it would be easier to get a new coach when you already have a coach. Don't want desperation mode to kick in.
