I knew it seemed personal.

Not that personal. I just think Clark has the better resume at this point. While Propst has done extremely well at the high school level, Clark has succeeded at the college level as well. Clark also doesn't have the whole mistress thing.

He will probably have a few former Prattville/SEC players as grad assistants. I know he had both Nick Gentry (Alabama) and Larry Smith (Vandy) at Jacksonville State. I wonder if he'll go after Kyle Tatum (Alabama) at Texas State.

Propst=Houston Nutt, sans college experience. Though bringing him in as OC would be good for the lulz.

As for Clark, I'm cautiously optimistic.

Rush Probst would have been a better hire in 2006 than Neil Callaway.

I like this Clark hire a lot more than I liked the McGee hire or the Callaway hire. I'm not old enough to remember Watson Brown being hired but Bill Clark seems like a better coach than I ever thought Brown was.

This is an out of the park hire. I didn't play for Clark but I did go to Prattville back in the 80's .and am a HUGE Bill Clark fan. He's a phenomenal coach and very good recruiter. He used to comb the youth leagues back when I coached youth ball looking for the next stars and lining them up to play for Pville.

He's also very adept at getting what he wants. If the admin there gives him just half of what he needs he'll turn UAB into a respectable program.

Sorry, don't know anything about him. Just know Propst from 2-a-days.

High school coaches, especially some in bham aren't big fans of propst.

Great football coach; not so great person. He only confessed about his second family because a reporter in Hoover broke the story. He would be a college coach by now if he wasn't so shady. Saban was going to hire him, but it was a no go when he was asked about the girlfriend and child. He is basically a used car salesman that knows football.

ETA:

Parents love the guy. He could sell ice to a eskimo.

Clark brought back Zac Woodfin (former Prattville/UAB player) to run S&C.

Duwan Walker has also been with him since his P'ville days.

Dunn as well, one of the dumbest people I've ever spoken to. He used to be the coach/teacher VA when I was at Pville. He once asked our soccer team, "What are you going to do to get better? Yes or no?"

Good ol Chuck. I'd assume he's bringing Bennefield too.
