this Houston offense is one dimensional I say that because you look at what they do on offense 98 percent of that offense is running the qb, this is an offense that doesn't run the running back barely. its basically an airraid offense, and when you play against an sec defense with bigger and better athletes that are nfl stlye players who know how to defend this offense.

They threw it a lot and extremely efficiently. They didn't run because their starter was out and they had some tiny dude he was a walk on starting for them against UConn.

remember how they defeated Oregon and all the experts were how Oregon was going to take lsu and beat them, well lsu went to the nickel defense and absolutely dismantled them

Tom Herman's offense obliterated Bama, so there's that.

And Oregon for that matter.

Houston:
#14 in scoring offense nationally
#44 rushing nationally
#23 passing nationally.

LSU:
#109 scoring offense
#53 rushing...
#119 passing

got anymore hot takes?

no, it's basically not. Tom Herman runs a "smashmouth spread" You should at least educate yourself with what offense Houston runs before you post about it.

Main strategy of the smashmouth spread: Isolate and overpower weak spots.

Signature scheme: The power run from a three-WR set.

using lead/power run game to be physical at the point of attack in order to set up play-action shots down the field.

There is literally nothing about Herman's offense that is air raid.

Several teams across the country run the same offense and score on every opponent including the big bad SEC.

Power run with the spread is hardly one dimensional and it is hardly an air raid offense

In fact its exactly what would work well against the SEC

It requires a big O line, a solid running game, but you also need a smart capable QB that can run and throw

Urban referred to it as a Spread Single Wing

Ward is playing the Single Wing Halfback aka Dak, Tebow or Jim Thorpe position where you run and pass.

Get off the SEC's nuts. It's literally one of the worse conferences in football right now. Bama is carrying it. Btw to think Florida state had NFL type players last year??

Their top 2 RBs were out dumbass.

At Ohio St his RBs averaged over 28 carries per game and his QBs averaged over 16 carries per game. Six different RBs got at least 18 carries, and Elliott had 273.

At Houston last year Ward did lead in carries a game (14.4), but his top 3 RBs all carried the ball at least 70 times with the leader 185 times.

In his last year at OSU and first year with Houston, 8 people carried the ball at least 18 times.

Sure you are. But if you're going to, make it something worthwhile. Questioning the offensive scheme that has proved time and time again to work against every level of defense in the FBS is a joke.

my favorite suggestions this week have been:

1. urban meyer
2. jim harbaugh
3. nick saban

like those are in any way shape or form realistic hires for LSU.
the people who mention these as potential head coaches for LSU have to live in some sort of alternate reality.
