He is qualified.

Unless UH hires him as HC, he is in need of a new job.

He can't go back to UT due to his past issues.

He is an OC, former QB, and good with QB's

He is available.

He is a Baton Rouge Native.

He's (also) been on Saban's staff (like Kiffin).

he has been on Herman's staff, so probably has his methods in his own "binder'.

He'd be a lot cheaper (freeing up more monies to pay Aranda)

LSU needs an OC who is good with QB's

I know others may get the first call, but would the rant be ok with Major?

Applewhite

Didn't Saban fire him at one point or am I thinking of someone else?

I know for a fact he did not like working for Saban because he had to work too hard.

Interesting. Would suspect the highly liberal UT environment would blow a gasket if Strong were fired AND UT hired someone who had sexually harassed a female employee.

People mature and modify. Its like the tenant that it is safest to fly on the airline that had the last accident. They are on their best processes and behavior thereafter. For a coach, he has a major bit set to avoid such activity henceforth.

Is this his dream job?

Does he love LSU?

Does he have a binder?

He has underachieved at multiple locations. Just because he has Alabama and Texas on his resume, that doesn't mean that he did anything worthwhile at either stop.

He did after 2007, but at the time Saban handcuffed him with a much more conservative pro style offense. He wouldn't run anything close to that now.

Opinions vary on how qualified he is and how well he will run an offense without a guy like Herman with him.

If he couldn't run Bama's offense why the hell would you want another SEC reject?

I'm good with Major.

He has leadership, has run a successful offense in multiple schools, and has recruiting ties in both LA and Texas.

Can't be any worse than some of our previous offensive coaches as far as developing talent or calling plays.

Applewhite had no business getting hired, a rare mistake by Saban.

He was overcredited at that point in time for his impact on that really good Rice system in 2006.

Well, he also wasn't really allowed to run that system, either. You know how Saban was back then. He wanted a conservative, run first pro attack.

That's revisionist history.

JPW had 462 attempts in 2007, he had 323 as a Senior in 2008 under McElwain.

Bama's top 3 RBs' attempts went from 359 in 2007 to 434 in 2008.

Bama tried the spread concepts in 2007 and Saban didn't like it. Then he went to a ball control set in 2008...
