By firing Miles early in the season benefits LSU tremendously on landing a big time coach. LSU has several months to gage interest and contact any coach they desire. This could cause a trickle down effect to the players on that team of the coach being contacted. This will cause distractions to their football team. That could cause the team to feel betrayed by their current coach and cause the team to fall apart. The players would be wondering if their coach is considering leaving for another school. In turn, the team would lose focus and end up losing a game from the distraction. When this happens, that coach would then realize there is no chance of national championship and then decide to jump ship. Just a theory so let's wait and see how Tom Herman's team handles all the distractions the rest of the year of their coach possibly leaving for another school. I've seen too many times a team all of a sudden fall apart at the end of the season when the team has a sense of their coach actually leaving for another school.

So hound them to death until they give in. Bold strategy.

So, if UH starts to regress because of the "distractions", we should back away? That somehow defines his ability to coach?

Keep pounding away at Herman until we get him. The media will keep bringing up his name for the next several months anyways. It can cause his players to lose faith and trust and the team can fall apart. Nothing good can come out of this for Houston if LSU stays the course and pounds away at him. We all know it does not take much to distract college kids anyways.

So are you Pro-Herman? Are you suggesting we create this distraction so we can get him easier?

Yes I want Herman and the media will bring all these distractions to the Houston football team. Hottest coach in college football and his players know it.

I think the best way to get him is to tell his agent we want to talk at the end of November. Leave him alone and finish the season. Let the media do what they please, no one has control over that.

The media will do all the bothering. LSU is the school that happens to need a coach. Just wait and see. This will be talked about every Saturday from now till the end of the year.

I have faith that our people realize no one is getting hired anytime soon. I know Herman knows all this bullshite is from the media. They know the game. The coach speak from them is par for the course and the sleaze bag media shite is also.

This isn't a new thing. Florida pulled the trigger earlier on Zook so they would have a better chance at the best possible candidate. Meyer was a much better than average result.

That's kind of a jack arse thing to hope for to be honest.

Why can't we just make sure he knows what lsu has to offer?

threads like this make me embarrassed to consider you a fellow tiger fan.

It makes zero sense to publicly drool all over Herman as the distraction becomes annoying to him as well as his current team and players. Let the agents do their work they are paid to do. The quieter this is, the better our chances are. Remember, we arent the only team trying to hire him.

Nick Saban turned down a sh*tload of money not going to Texas. Maybe there was a reason for that. I wouldn't be so confident if I were you. While I doubt anyone takes the ban bet, because nobody knows wtf he's going to do, we all know that at LSU he has a lot less work to do and he already has a great defense run by his buddy here. He doesn't have that at Texas. He has an easier schedule, sure. But he may want the challenge. He may not want the headache sh*tshow that Texas is right now. Who knows. I'm just saying that you seem reasonable and I don't want you getting your hopes up. Texas doesn't need help on offense, and Herman is an offensive coach. I say that knowing that Strong is a defensive minded coach, and their defense is beyond horrible. With Herman you guys are the same team y'all are now. Great offensively, but couldn't cover a WR or tackle to save your life. Y'all really just need to back up the brinks truck to Saban again and keep throwing money until he says yes. That's the best thing Texas could do.
