The Coach O Delusion and Hypocrisy

The same people who said "fire Les" because of his continual 3 loss seasons are really quick to forgive Coach O for a 10-25 record at Ole Miss which included a 3-21 record in the SEC (Vandy is Ole Miss' permanent opponent too).
The same people are saying "he learned from his mistakes and has learned under great coaches since then." The coaches he coached under after Ole Miss were Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian, and Les Miles.
Les needed to go, but we need to make an outside hire. The questions about Coach O are not whether he can energize a team but whether he can run a program. There is a lot more to coaching and running a program than being a "rah rah" guy. I am a proud tiger fan and have cajun blood, but that does not blind me from wanting an outside hire. We need to do what is best for LSU.

I haven't seen anyone who wants to hire Coach O long term right now. What I have seen is a whole lot of people who love his energy and are reserving judgement on him as a potential long term replacement until the end of the season.
