Texas coach list

David Shaw (most likely)
Al Golden
Mark Dantonio
Somebody needs to research private flights to Palo Alto a few weeks ago.

Stanford has a lot more money than texas. David shaw played at stanford too. If he leaves its for the Oakland Raiders.

Dantonio or Mora would be good hires.

They're not about to pay that kind of money for a football coach.

This is why he won't leave, he's a Stanford guy.

Stanford University won't pay shaw but some tech geeks who went to stanford can cut him in some sweet side deals.

Why not go after Rich Rod. He is doing a stellar job at Arizona.

Stanford does not have more money then Texas oil money.

Stanford football is a stepping stone.
I think Shaw would be a great hire. Texas probably won't hire a Gundy, Briles or Patterson.
Gus
Miles
Jumbo
These 3 are probably out of reach.
Charlie Stong should also be considered

Franklin is a top notch coach. 8-4 at Vanderbilt having to recruit against the studs of the SEC is impressive. California has an overflow of talent. Tennessee, not so much.

Shaw is only leaving Stanford for the Texans

They both have more than enough. The whole issue though isn't really "how much money" but the amount a university would spend on a football coach and the corresponding message that sends.
I couldn't imagine a lot of decision makers at Stanford being comfortable paying a football coach a precedent shattering amount.
However, I still think people may be underestimating the resistance even a Texas AD would face in trying to pay a coach something like $15 million a year regardless of the source of the funds?
