Gilbert makes 900K. Baby Briles makes 250K.

They are the two disciples of Art Brile's Air Raid.

Gilbert as OC, and Baby Briles as Qb Coach and Co-OC?

I am just throwing this out, as I am not even sure I like it, bit wondering the opinion.

1.15M to get both, maybe with a raise they get 1.4M total.

Or is Gilbert enough on his own?

Thoughts?

This should be highly considered. Kendall doesn't have the stink on him that his daddy does. Gilbert would probably find more first year success here than he did babysitting a ton of freshmen and sophomores in Austin.

Solid plan. Hopefully Ponamski reads your thread.

Kendall makes a Quater mill? Damn I was guessing at least 750. But Gilbert would be easy to get since he's out on the market. No worry about a buyout or anything like that

The other positive is that they could get to work recrtuiting IMMEDIATELY. Let Ensminger handle the bowl and prep, but go ahead and sign these guys up and have them hit the damn trail.

I'm all in for BB. Gilbert would be icing, but I bet he lands a P5 OC gig.

Don't want Gilbert. His offense has shiny numbers by way of non-existant Big 12 defenses but watch the play calling. It's out routes and deep balls (does that sound familiar?). Texas never threw anything in the middle of the field.

most are killing O for not beating Bama or Florida.... Did you see what these 2 clowns did this past seasons as OC's.
Texas 5-7 Coach fired
Baylor 6-5 on a 5 game L streak that was started by a 5-7 Texas team.
No thank you to both of them.

Texas' offense was very young, including depending on a freshman QB. They actually had pretty decent numbers.

If you loved the toss dive by Cam and Les. Then you are really gonna love Gilbert and his 5 plays.

What is Gilbert's connection to Art Briles?

Hasn't Coach O said he will run a pro style offense?

If so these guys are out.

Who does have experience coaching a pro offense?

Gilbert was very mediocre as a play caller this year - Texas had good offensive production because of an above average OL against crappy Big12 DLs and a great RB. This was his first year ever as a play caller and it shows.

Kendall Briles may likely get a hard look by the NCAA over the KD Cannon recruitment. And I chuckle at the thought that he lacked any knowledge or role in the sexual assault cover ups.

LSU could do a lot better.

Which Big 12 offenses didn't have decent numbers? Probably the Kansas schools?

Not that I'm aware of - granted, Texas has very little history against either but I'm almost positive KState is the only Big12 school that Texas has a losing record against.
