His team is losing badly to scrubs like SMU. It appears he lost his team and they're not even trying anymore. With the lack of Big XII expansion, I don't see why he stays. He will never win big there, and he needs to look elsewhere. LSU is less of a rebuild than Texas, and if I were him, I'd be very intrigued. I still want him here, but if we beat Bama, O should be highly considered.

Maybe he's practicing losing so he fits in better at Texas.

Id be shocked if he turns them down for LSU.

I remember an exact same scenario with a guy who was once considered a Notre Dame lock. Interesting...

If you were him, you'd think a lot differently. If you were him, you might would look around and see winning the Big 12 is a lot easier than winning the SEC. Or maybe you look at Austin. Need I say more?

Houston players know herman is leaving. Past two weeks they look lethargic and uninspired. Definitely don't look like the same team who beat Oklahoma and Florida state.

Wherever Herman ends up i am more concerned about him not trying to pull Aranda away from us. I think the likelihood is low, but with a new coach coming here, i am not sure. It's possible Herman ends up at UT and our new coach decides it's not worth it to try and outbid them for Aranda. Right now, i think Aranda is the most important person on the LSU staff, and LSU will desperately need him next year with all guys going to the NFL.

I don't disagree. I was just thinking if you have the opportunity to take Aranda why not? If UT is willing to pay him that is.

I guess it would be more likely for Herman to ask than Aranda to actually leave since the big 12 seems to have forgotten what the word defense means.

Maybe it's an easier task in big 12 but he'll even a 1 loss season and you may not get in. No respect for that conference from comittee.

I didn't mean that if that's what you thought I was saying. I meant big 12 doesn't even consider defense these days, and if Aranda wanted an HC job he would likely be better off to prove that at LSU where we value our DC. So i guess Herman could ask, but Aranda would likely want to stay here for reasons i stated. Just speculation.

Major is currently being sued by UT for Major having a play toy student...or something like that.

I don't see them ignoring that and hiring a guy back while under litigation.
