The Falcons let Rex Ryan get away and now he is going to the Bills..... The Buffalo Bills. I just do not understand why the Falcons did not go ahead and make an offer to Rex? For a team that is in dire need of toughness and improved play defensively who else would have been a better fit than Rex? Now I fear that we will go in the direction of an offensive coach like Adam Gase from Denver, no disrespect to to Gase, but I feel that most offensive coordinators would look good with Peyton Manning as their quarterback. The idea that Josh McDaniels would be a good higher makes me sick to my stomach, he drove Denver into the ground with his poor drafting and odd personnel decisions. If John Fox and Elway hadn't been able to make great moves in free agency then the impact McDaniels had on Denver would be much more talked about, instead he was able to get back to New England and save face by having one of the greatest quarterbacks ever in Brady. Todd Bowles has also been rumored for the job and he could potentially be a good hire because he has done and excellent job in Arizona, but I still do not understand why you would hire a defensive guy with no head coaching experience over a defensive coach who has head coached his team to back to back AFC championships. Rex may have made some dumb predictions during his time in New York, but there is no doubt he got almost everything he could out of those Jets teams, especially his first two years. Maybe the Falcons will surprise me by making a great hire and in a few years I will be thinking about how crazy I was for wanting Rex, but we may make a poor hire and be having this same conversation again in three years.

That's a shitload of text that I am not reading. But Rex should have gone to Atlanta. He brings a defense there and they go next level.

Wasn't Blank out for a funeral and Rex didn't wait? I think that's the story right now.

Yep, he's just waiting until the day LSU announces its DC hire so he can steal their thunder once again.

SO glad they didn't get Rex. He could've made them nasty.

It would be worth the stealing of the thunder to see Saban leave AL.

They didn't invite him back for a 2nd interview

I think Blanks mother dying gave short term control of the search to dimitroff/Pioli

Blank wanted Ryan but they didn't so they never invited him back

That's my theory
