take away Les' very highly paid staff and resources, are we sure he's still a great recruiter?

Yes. That isn't really debatable. His players loved him. He sold the program, you can't have one without the other. Recruiting isn't a game of come play for me, it is convincing someone that, among all other options, this is the place for you. In other words, recruiting for the school and resources is part of the job, part of the sales pitch.

And are we giving him credit now for his staff or not? Hard to keep up with the moving goal posts.

The out-of-touch nature of the national media is on full display here.

Last November we were told, repeatedly, that Les Miles was the perfect coach for us and that we were fools to fire him. We were unfair and heartless.

And now, we see one of the "biggest names" in college football, Les Miles, having trouble finding a job, even at lesser programs.

The message? Les Miles is PERFECT for LSU, but no one else, because LSU is as dumb and foolish as Les is. The rest of the country views us as clowns.

This season, we were heartless again (think Mark May) to search for a coach behind Ed Orgeron's back. No one else would have Ed Orgeron, but for LSU... he's perfect. Because he fits the narrative of what the national media wants us to be. Goofy bayou people.

The rest of the country is much more comfortable with us in our little hole, entertaining them, but causing little trouble or threat. That's why we dropped 11 spots after losing to Bama 10-0. That's why you should pay no mind to what they have to say about us at LSU.

LSU has a serious image problem that no one seems willing to address or work on. LSU fans should wake up about this.

Look at all the five stars he brought to Okie State!

Oh wait, recruiting improved under the mullet.

I think he is a good candidate to replace Courso on Game day, this was Courso's last year wasn't it? Did they name a replacement?

I think he goes to ESPN as a sideline reporter......

and that would be more comical than his clock management.

Les doesn't want to coach for a living when he can retire for a living. He will never coach again.

I really think it is this

His 1970 offense is a huge turnoff when the landscape or college Football is all about offense. Mark Richt is a known qb guru with a good offensive mind. Les isn't.

Why do you care? Does it make you feel better about the O hiring knowing that Les hasn't found a job?

No one could ever convince me that Les wasn't trying to get fired.

As Gondor said, I agree his best bet at this point is replacing Corso.

He'll say some wacky shite for like 16 Saturdays a year and will be great at it.

The other analysts will just laugh and everyone will get fat checks.

Are you suggesting that LSU will always win 8-10 games a year no matter who the coach is? If so you are way over-rating LSU's program as a whole.
This is a trait of most of the more ardent Miles' bashers.

63 is not that old. He still has five or so decent years left in him, but not necessarily with a P5 program.
