Because he only wants coaches who want to be here, yet the OC target is allowed to interview with every single school in the country and that's fine.

This is a clown show

Let's also not forget he all but said he'd be willing to pay Aranda to stay

in other words, a bidding war for a DC is fine, but not for a HC

the man is inept

for a better position...are some of you really that retarded that you don't realize a HC job is better than a OC job?

The answer to this question is yes. Most of these people have never been a part of a coaching system. Don't be surprised. This board is full of retards who obviously know more than the people in charge about the things going on behind the scenes.

It actually makes sense because F. King Alexander said in an interview back in November he would put a cap on the total salary of coaches. I think what Alleva did is a result of that.

No way to know this for certain, but I'd like to think Aranda would have stayed for a lower salary if it meant landing Herman. I think Aranda intends on being here until he moves on to the NFL. JMO

so Alleva skipped an actual coaching search to hire a HC who promised an OC who was a serious risk to not come here for a better position?

A) Alleva has nothing to do with the hire except approving salary. The HC hires coordinators.

B) Kiffin was always plan A, with backups as Canada and Helfrich (who are still available).

So when O sat down with Alleva for his interview last month, Canada and Heldrich were his backups? You honestly don't believe that do you

I didn't know F King had anything to do with coaches salaries. The money doesn't come from the University, it comes from boosters (TAF) or am I wrong?

i mean, considering that helfrich was fired AFTER Orgeron got the job, of course he was a part of the plans.

Not disagreeing with your assessment of Alleva, but getting into a bidding war over a HC who is ultimately unproven as a HC at a P5 school is a bit different than your DC who is established and proven he's one of the best in the P5.

Kiffin was plan A, which was presented at the meeting, I would assume at the time of said meeting, plan B was a list of coordinators that could likely be swayed, including Canada, Riley, Gilbert, etc. Helfrich was added to that list when he was let go from Oregon.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
