What's your point? Mandeville is in a weak district but made the semis back to back years?

Look I lived in Mandeville too although I went to sps

Now it makes sense.

When did St.Pauls go to the semi's? In fact, when did the wolvies get past the first round?
Com'on man, St. Pauls won district and then lost to a 32 seed. Now who's adding to the "weak district" label. Tool

dude stpauls is weak too. They choke in the playoffs consistently just like with every other team including MANDEVILLE! Quit being bitches. St Tammany is a weak district. Period.

That's because they cycle the same coaches around. Retread, same ole, same ole. It's all politics.

It's not all politics. It's just a pain in the arse to hire people.

First off, whatever school is hiring someone has to have a teaching job available in that coach's certification area.

Then, each coach has to go through job fair. Lets take Lakeshore for instance. Larry Route stepped down right after the season. If Lakeshore wanted to hire someone from outside of St. Tammany Parish, the new coach would have to go through job fair in June. So you're looking at a new head coach coming in 2 months before the season begins. Then, good luck hiring assistants.

It's a complete pain in the arse.

I don't see Mandeville as choking. St Paul always chokes. I agree Mandeville isn't that great a team. They have spent 2 years over achieving. I am very impressed with that coach Lecompte and what he is doing. He gets everything he has out of his players. If I am a kid from Mandeville that played football I believe I would stay home and pass on playing for St Paul. Mandeville is a good school academically and a much better coach. You don't lose anything and save a few thousand. Your buddies from St Paul can watch you in the playoffs every year.

They have more than one job fair a year. I know they have had them in Feb before!

That's the transfer fair. Within the parish.

Then their system of hiring will always cheat their kids from having better coaches. There maybe someone from outside the parish who is a good coach that may want one of those jobs and they can't get it. Sounds like typical public school crap! Really looking out for the kids there aren't they!

It is stronger than the Shreveport district, the Bayou district, probably as good as both BR districts and better than the New Orleans public school district when it is reformed.

Only districts clearly better are Monroe, Lafayette/LC and the reformed Catholic League. It's not weak, it's middle of the pack.

I played for Slidell in 98' and back them the District has Salmen in it. It was a tough district back then.

St. Pauls was a whipping boy back then, and Covington was king on the West Side of the Parish.

Although we did shut them out that year at their house.

I agree with this. Far from the worst.

Favre is a good hire for Slidell. I played at Mandeville under Corkern - Lecompte is doing a much better job and definitely is getting the most of his players. Lot of retread coaches in St. Tammany but its not necessarily bad - Favre had some really good years at FHS

Mandeville isnt very good in the beginning of the year but LeCompte gets those kids ready and they are a different animal in the playoffs. Id much rather almost make it to the dome twice then win district and get bounced first round every year.

Larry at slidell is interesting. Will make the district a lot more fun
