Similar to the Fisher situation, someone explain why Kiffin would come here?

As an OC

He's about to win another title at Bama. Would be under a HC on a short leash.

My only thoughts would be that he'd think he would have a chance at HC if O failed.

Not happening IMO.

probably because he hates working under Saban and he knows he can do whatever he wants under O

To prove he can coach without Saban managing him. It's that simple and is a likely outcome

Because Saban and the University is ready for Kiffin to leave.

Would you rather work for your stern step-dad who runs a successful business and is always keeping you accountable or your "cool" uncle that let's you do whatever you want?

I could see O quietly telling him he would lend his campaign resources to get him a HCIW tag eventually.

Oh and $2 million... can't forget the $2 million

He likes O.

Maybe he wants to get out from under Saban's thumb, who keeps him on a short leash.

Not saying he's coming, but maybe those are possible reasons why he would.

How do you know Bama is ready for him to leave? He's been highly successful there as an OC

He's a really good offensive mind. He's still young. Going work for your friend for 2+M a year and being able to focus on the offense and continuing to rebuild your image has got to be very appealing

I really worry if O would be able to control Kiffin

The ONLY reason is because Bama will not give him a raise to keep him.

His contract is up soon and they are not in the business of paying that much for an OC when they can get Sark at a fraction of the cost.

That's about the only situation I can fathom tbh

The "saban is a dick" scenario seems flimsy

Because his contract is up and Coach O is his ride or die. Really that simple.

He could follow the blueprint that O prepared. Maybe jordy culotta can be his water boy during the games.

I thought Kiffin and his wife recently divorced?
