Either Saban feels like hes not worth the trouble, or

Saban will re-sign him at the last minute, or

Kiffin has something lined up and isn't coming back (but his post SECCG interviews didn't seem persuasive in this regard)

Because I cant imagine that the best college coach of all time, is simply going to allow his OC to make a lateral move within his own division? Unless theres a reason hes not worried about any competitive edge. Which then makes me REAL worried

It should but it won't...

Remember the Steele debacle?

We seem to think Saban rejects will help us win....

Do we know for a fact that Saban doesn't want to re-sign him?

Ya'll need to hurry up and make your minds up. Are we supposed to have tantrums and lose our shite if he comes to LSU or if he leaves us.
This is all too confusing.

I would guess that if Saban doesn't want him he is likely tired of putting up with him. Saban is a control freak and Kiffin is a man child. Those two don't mix well. Just pure speculation on my part. Nothing has been made public that saban does or doesn't want to keep him. Only that he supports kiffin in his future endeavors.

For all we know it could be a money problem. Kiffin wants to get paid more so he asks Saban and is denied. Multiple reasons to guess about.

If you think thousands of people are supposed to have a unified opinion on these matters, you probably wear velcro shoes because tying a knot was too much to learn.

Kiffins interview said that they had talked, and him returning was up to Saban

So, my premise is that Saban is letting LSU twist in the wind, and he will re-sign Kiffin

Then we throw the bank at Sark. They can't have two OCs on staff. Sark is not going to stay on staff as an analyst for another year if he has offers on the table.

You are aware he was forced out at USC because he was "too unhealthy to make practices"

You want that in an OC?

You answered your own question. The last part of your post and Sabans comments in the last few days tell the story. Saban knows he's leaving anyway and is doing all he can to make sure it isn't for LSU. Not because he's scared but because he's smart. LSU with a good offense is trouble for Bama and we all know it. We played them better than anyone with no offense.

No. Saban is very hard to work for. Kiffen has proven time and time again that he is a very good offensive coordinator.

Sport, that wasnt my opinion. That was Kiffin himself saying that wanted to return, that he had talked to Saban it, and the ball was now in his court. Then Saban has been saying since then that Kiffin is ready to move on to a HC job.

So either Saban is either going to re-sign him if no HC opens. So Alleva got played. Or Saban doesn't want to re-sign him, which is telling. Thereby playing Alleva like he did with Steele

You don't understand what the word fact means.

You title implies that Saban has said he isn't going to re-sign Lane. The fact is, you don't know if he has or he hasn't. Which means your title is just your opinion and, in fact, not fact.

You might want to share that with Kiffin too. because he clearly said he told Saban he wanted to return, and all Saban has talked about since is Kiffin moving on to a HC position

"its up to coach now" = Saban hasn't expressed an interest in re-signing me

OTHERWISE, Kiffin would have said, "its up to ME", because there is an offer on the table. And since LK didn't say that, its a fact, not an opinion

FACT: there is no current offer on the table for Kiffin to return as Bama OC

That's why he got on the horn and personally vouched for him to several schools.

here is my take...Lane was given a 3yr deal with the assumption that he would have a head coaching gig by then. Based on this, Saban made plans to bring in his successor (Sarkisian). Saban never foresaw Kiffin even being considered by LSU until O go the job...
