People don't want to hire a guy with no HC experience and others don't want to hire a guy that is largely mediocre just because he has HC experience.

What if we brought in a guy like Frost as OC/HCIW? Les gets 1 or 2 more years as HC, Frost takes over, promotes Frank to OC.

Mark Dantonio - One of the highest paid coaches in the NCAA. Also has a heart condition.
Art Briles - Has never left the state of Texas. Why would he leave Baylor?
James Franklin - Is from PA, is now at his absolute dream job at PSU.
David Cutcliffe - Great hire for Duke.
Justin Fuente - Could be a good hire.
Tom Herman - Could be a good hire.

Don't put Les through that indignity, just fire him so he can go to the Bahamas and enjoy his 15 million.

60, not going anywhere, making bank already

60 as well, great offense... no D to speak of

Ugh, doing well rebuilding Penn State, but he won't be the coach to take them back to the top. We don't need rebuilding.

61... come on. Solid HC but nothing special.

Good candidate

I'd be a bit worried, but wouldn't be the worst hire.

No. Time for Les to go. His replacement must have previous head coaching experience. LSU is not a "learn as you go" type of job.

My question would be, whomever is the next coach, will they dismantle the current staff that currently has the top recruiting class for 2016. Recruiting is about relationships and as Arden Key proved, it was all about his relationship with Coach O that led him here.

Coach O, Frank, and Raymond must be retained if LSU is to compete for the best talent in the Nation on a consistent basis. JMO

If whoever we hire doesn't understand why keeping O, Frank and Raymond is in their best interest then they aren't ready.

Les Miles is one of the few coaches who the HCIW could work with.

I suspect LSU fires Miles and moves on. If that's not going to happen, for whatever reason, the new OC/HCIW is a better option than retaining the status quo.

So you would say that was a smooth transition over at FSU?
