Still don't buy it. At all. There is absolutely no reason to go else where, and if it was for the money I have no doubt he could take Texas' offer to the AD and they'd go scrambling to the coffers to match it.

ETA: Saban to Penn St would be more believable than Texas IMO.

ETA2: Well, maybe not.

keep it up. All NC winning coaches at Alabama have a statue. It would stay up even if he left for another school.

He seems to like rebuilding programs. Texas has a shitload of talent but can't win. Seems like a match made in heaven.

That's the thing: Texas isn't a rebuilding job. They are pulling in the talent, their coaching and development just blows a dick. On a scale of 1-10, Texas is like a 3 on the "rebuilding" scale.

They won a national championship and played for another one not that long ago...I wouldn't go that far.

Other than that, there is a lot of prestige and historical relevance to coaching at a place like Texas (also LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan...) and it would greatly help his legacy. And you know that arrogant douchebag cares about his legacy.

That's why I think Penn St would be a place he'd want to go for if it wasn't such a complete dumpster fire right now.

Petrino would be a possible name to pop up if Saban not interested....but would they come after Miles with major bucks?

Why would Saban want to leave the SEC and a football Mecca?

Please, please let this happen. Let that bastard show his true colors and leave Bama clinging to his statue. Only thing that would make it better is if he went to Tenn

To go to a bigger program than Bama

ESPN (longhorn network) would jizz their collective pants if Saban was a Texas.

Easier to win the Big 12 and go to the BSCNCG than it is to win the SEC West?

From my neutral standpoint, I can't believe for an instant that Saban would go to Texas. I especially can't believe that Saban would be entertaining other coaching offers the week of the Iron Bowl.

He would have no problem entertaining other coaching offers the week of the Iron Bowl. Just the fact that this news is coming up 5 days before the Iron Bowl makes me

What is he going to say?

I know ..........

How about "I don't know how else to say it. I will not be the Texas coach"

True or not, who is going to believe him?
