I just don't see any reason why richt wouldn't take the virginia job, similar to cut at duke.

Virtually zero pressure whatsoever, great town to live in, relatively weak division in a P5 conference...he'd be on easy street. Compare that to living in miami and dealing with zero fan support, a shite administration, poor facilities...aside from the fact he played there for 4 years there's really nothing that would suggest he'd take miami over virginia.

lots of schools will pay more, have better facilities (though the facilities other than not having a campus stadium at theU are outstanding), but theU is still a great place to recruit at and has an easy path to the playoff.

i mean, the recruiting is pretty ridiculous. other schools have better peripheral things, but as far as the potential to win? not many places are setup like theU for a good coach.

Agree. UVA seems like a perfect job for a guy like Richt. Hell, UVA is a nice job period.

People that think the Miami job is a bad job are crazy. If you have the right coach, Da U has proved time and again they can be the most feared team in the country. Outstanding city to recruit to plus it's located in an already fertile recruiting ground, Miami has everything they need. Only downside is a stadium not located on campus.

Other than his tie there, what about Mark Richt screams out "he's the guy to return Da U to homicidal glory!!"

Did i mention anything about Mark Richt?

(reads post again)

I didn't. Richt is better than most of the names out there. If I were them, I'd offer Mullen first then Richt.

Seems more logical for someone at this point in their career, but I don't know Richt or what makes him tick. Quality of life considerations would seem to be more important to a coach of his age and level of accomplishment.

Miami is no place for a good Christian man like Richt.

I think he would do quite well there. Miami would be foolish to pass on him.

Butch Davis is the best hire because he is a better recruiter

People underestimate Richt's recruiting ability. You get him in a room with a recruit's mom, and she'll make the decision.
