So what gets him fired next season? Could he go 7-6 with a third straight loss to OSU and a bowl win and still keep his job?

If he does get fired, where could he end up? I think a mid-level BCS program on the level of Louisville/Texas Tech/South Florida (for comparison) would love to take a shot with him.

I'll bet Jim Harbaugh ends up in Michigan when Rodriguez gets fired...

Harbaugh isn't that well liked by alum. It's probably going to take at least 4 conference wins.

Vs U Conn - Loss
At Notre Dame - Toss Up
Vs U Mass - Win
Vs Bowling Green - Win
At Indiana - Toss Up
Vs Michigan State - Loss
Vs Iowa - Loss
At Penn State - Loss
Vs Illinois - Toss Up
At Purdue - Toss Up
Vs Wisconsin - Loss
At Ohio State - Loss

If they get lucky they win six games. Rich Rod gets fired after OSU game.

If he goes 1-11 with a win over Ohio State, would he keep his job?

Rich Rod is screwed. Not much talent at Michigan.

I could see him resurfacing at a place like Arizona State, UCLA or Texas A&M in conferences and recruiting areas where he'd be more successful. And to top it off, hiring a coach named Rodriguez would be great PR moves in those areas.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at Tulane if Bob Toledo has another bad year

Tulane could fly Sandy Barbour back in to present him with the Green Jacket at the press conference announcing his hiring. .....

Bowl game or bust for Rich Rod. We've got a new AD, David Brandon who played in the 1960s for Bo Schembechler. He has been publicly supportive of RR, but we all know how that goes.

7-5 guarantees him another year, 6-6 makes it iffy, anything less and he's gone.

This is his 3rd season- I don't think 6-6 is acceptable, but just like Fl. St., nowadays 6 wins, however shitty that sounds for a major program, gets you in a bowl game...

You may not know the lay of the land in Ann Arbor, but Harbaugh going to UofM would be almost as surprising as Saban coming back to LSU.

well, when you come in and completely revamp the system without players that can actually run it- it looks like there is no talent. If we were still operating under the LC system of coaching I think things would probably be a lot different right now. No freaking way we would have lost 16 games in two seasons.

As far as Harbaugh goes...it's interesting how many jobs hes been offered to interview at and has turned down. One would think he's waiting in the wings to take the Michigan gig. Who knows if he would be offered it though. I know he pissed a lot of people off. Me personally, his comments didn't bother me-cause it's true-probably even at Stanford. The question is, if Harbaugh has another good season, and RR doesn't, would Michigan be willing to look past it? If we are to believe what has been said about Miles and why he didn't get the job then I doubt Harbaugh has a shot either. The only difference between the two is that Harbaughs comments are in writing. Miles' alleged dump on the university is purely speculation.
Sorry for the long rant.
