Though Miami has been in the market for a new coach for more than a month, the search to replace Al Golden has kicked into high gear now that current coaches have some down time to discuss the job.

The Palm Beach Post's Matt Porter reported earlier this week that Butch Davis, currently a college football analyst for ESPN, interviewed with Miami. It has been expected by many that the former Hurricanes and UNC coach would take the job if offered, and Davis said as much when asked about the opportunity earlier this season.

"Obviously, I'd love to be considered for that opportunity," Davis said in an October radio interview. "Age is just a number. I've been the biggest kid on my block the entire life. I've got all the energy. I love recruiting. It's something I've loved my entire career."
