Bull-fricking-shite. But, if true, I would think MSU should line up Narduzzi (even though I love Fleck).

He strikes me as a guy who is going nowhere until he retires.

I sense the sarcasm but it's absolutely a fact that if there is one position LSU was always solid at under him, it was oline.

Narduzzi would be solid, but not exciting. Hell of a coach, but you need someone to compete with HarBro and Urban for recruits...Fleck can create enough excitement to do that. I'm still not fully sold on him, but the guy works his balls off and believes in what he's selling. I can see why he'd be successful at WMU and how that might translate to MSU.

You have been predicting Dantonio to ND for some time. Is this a gut feeling or are you getting info on this from somewhere?

Sauces...

Heard it through the grapevine. It's a solid source but it's been a nutty coaching carousel so far. He's more adamant on the Dantonio to ND move than Fleck to MSU move, but feels both will happen. Kelly is a real POS, no surprise there. A lot of Notre Dame higher up's have had enough

This is a weird midwest street fight if it happens. Dants might be realizing the MSU run is over. He can probably do a little better at ND, but it feels like a lateral move in a lot of ways. Even though the Texas/LSU coaching moves proved to be chalk and not that interesting, the changes at levels below will be awesome to watch.

Interesting. I cannot imagine how ND would keep Kelly, but ND has been mismanaged for 20+ years so who knows. Thanks.

That would be a great hire. With that being said I do not believe a random blogger on thebiglead.com is very credible about CFB coaching news.

I think we can still get into a lot of homes that MSU cannot, and our recruiting rankings - especially compared to MSU - and NFL draft production over the last decade bear that out even while we've largely been a middling to bad football team. I think/hope Dantonio believes that it would be a talent infusion that would be able to put him over the top and truly compete for a title. Maybe that Bama game last year was a bit of a wake up call for him in terms of the a talent gap that MSU might never be able to overcome.

Anyway, I don't put much stock in what a blogger like this says and his year this year has me a tiny bit hesitant, but I and I think the vast majority of the fanbase would love the hire.

If nd wants a big ten coach it should be pat Fitzgerald. Michigan state fans might like their coach leaving right now, some of his moves were strange this year.

I agree that Pat Fitzgerald would be a great hire. However, since he's coaching at his alma mater, Northwestern, I'm not sure if he would leave for another job.

By the way, the last coach that Notre Dame stole from Northwestern worked out quite well.... Ara Parseghian.

I like Fitz, and Northwestern is my other alma mater besides ND, but I know the program a bit and know some guys who played there, too...

Fitz absolutely hates Notre Dame. Passion of a thousand white hot hellish suns. That will never happen.

Besides Dantonio, the better bet is Chryst. Even though Wisconsin is his alma mater, the rumblings have been that he could be pried loose from there with the right situation.
