Recruiting

Everyone seems to be arguing that the biggest benefit to appointing Orgeron as HC would be his recruiting prowess (and rightfully so). Orgeron has proven to be an outstanding recruiter throughout his days as a coach. However, here's how Jimbo Fisher's classes have ranked since he became HC at FSU.
2011 2nd
2012 3rd
2013 11th
2014 4th
2015 3rd
2016 2nd
Jimbo doesn't take a back seat to many in recruiting. Combine that with the fact that he has a specialty and can solidify one side of the ball and I think it's really a no brainer.

If only Jimbo talked like the cookie monster, this would all be over.

Yeah the excuses they make for not wanting Jimbo over O are laughable at best.
"We'll lose a bunch of recruits when O leaves"
Jimbo sent the most players to the NFL in a 3 year span than anybody else in history. When we thought we were going to get the #1 class last year, Saban AND Jimbo swooped right in front of us. Jimbo was recruiting in Louisiana for years back when he was under Saban. Jimbo snags tons of talent in his own Florida backyard. What in the HELL are we losing on the recruiting front?
"What has he done without Winston"
Well, the year before Winston he
Won the ACC - first time FSU did that since 2005
Went 12-2 - 1st time FSU won more than 10 games since 2000
Won the Orange Bowl - 1st BCS bowl since 2005, 1st BCS bowl win since 2000
Had a 3400 yard passer - 1st time since 2005 they had a 3000 yard passer
Sent a QB to the first round - actually his 2nd, 1st round QB in 3 years, from the same school.
I mean listen, the guy has:
- Won a national championship and played in the playoffs for another
- Went to 4 conference championship games in his first 5 years as HC (won 3)
- Coached at LSU for 7 years
- Produced 4 1st round QBs from 2006-2014 for 2 different schools
- Produced 2 NFL #1 overall QBs
- Snagged Winston from Bama's backyard
- Coached and recruited 4 different QBs that went on to win national championships at 3 different schools
- Coached and/or recruited 6 different QBs that passed for at least 3000 yards in a season from 2001-2015 at 4 different schools.
Produced two (one unofficial), 4000 yard passers
- Coached and recruited 3 QBs that passed for at least 28 TDs in a season from 2003-2014
And for people that talk shite about it being the ACC
Clemson beat Auburn @ Auburn
Louisville beat TAMU last year
Florida regularly gets destroyed by FSU
G Tech beat Miss St with Miss St's best team in forever
LSU needed the 4th quarter to pull away from 4-8 Syracuse last year
Clemson damn near pulled it off vs Bama last year
Virginia Tech beat Ohio State 2 years ago @ Ohio St
Jimbo will have the money to go get a top DC whenever Aranda gets a HC gig, and we'll keep the train moving. We'll have consistently good QB play, and the talent we bring in will actually be even better than before.

I'll copy a post from another thread regarding O's recruiting at OM. (which is used to prove he is an elite recruiter)
quote:
I think everyone agrees that O is a great recruiter, but there is a lot that goes into great classes. Winning games, what type of offense and defense you run, etc. I've done this before, but here are OM rankings before and after O.
Cutcliffe
2001 - 23
2002 - 23
2003 - 34
2004 - 31
Avg - 27.8
Coach O
2005 - 30
2006 - 17
2007 - 19
Avg - 22
Nutt
2008 - 29
2009 - 19
2010 - 23
2011 - 20
Avg - 22.75
Freeze
2013 - 8
2014 - 15
2015 - 17
2016 - 5
Avg - 11.25
So O recruited a little better than cutcliffe, on par with Nutt, and way worse than Freeze.

If you came here looking for a logical reason why we should have Coach O instead of Jimbo you came to the wrong place.
