I'm sure it helped some but i believe in hiring the best person available and all this talk of "seasoning" is overrated. great coaches are great coaches. i don't think Urban in 2005 was dramatically better than the Urban in 2003 and if he had been hired at a power school then he would have ended up doing just as well.

I understand your logic but I think it might be wrong. Everything does change everything and when you have a chance to dominate at each level you move up to then you don't lose focus and faith in your better ideas.

BG to Utah to Florida was an incredible trajectory but it gave time to learn the ropes of different aspects of managing recruiting, boosters, recruits, fame, etc. People somehow forget how outstanding those Utah teams he coached were - without him doing that in Utah maybe they don't have the national cache to get entry into the PAC.

Northwestern is leading their division in the big x. That win is looking pretty good.

Pj fleck is emerging as one of the best young coaches out there. To ignore him is ignorant or dumb. This cat can coach and recruit. His team is consistent. They get better each year and as the season matures. That's more than I can say about a lot of coaches who are the flavor of the moment.

Fleck is an intriguing option. He's young but well worth the chance. Given the consistency this year, he should be in the Kelly/Herman/Fisher group.

I'll talk to Fleck about it. He's coming over to my house at 230 to mow my lawn.

WMU had never WON A BOWL before the Fleck regime

they've also beaten 2 B10 teams this year right? first time they've ever done that

i don't think they had ever beaten a ranked team, either

they are the shittiest of shitty historically

I am sure you think this is funny, I would bet you have never had the success of building anything to the level Fleck has done. Facts are more interesting than just being a douche bag!

last week was literally the first time in the history of the AP poll that WMU was ranked. The first time. Ever. In history

PJ Fleck lol..

2013

Fleck's first season as Broncos head coach resulted in a final record of 1–11 (1–7 Mid-American Conference (MAC)). It was the program's worst season since 2004, when the Broncos went 1–10 (0–7 MAC). Injuries, youth and inexperience, discipline, and execution led to poor play.[20] Low-lights included a home loss to Nicholls State, a blowout loss to Iowa, and a homecoming loss to Buffalo. The team improved their play late in the season, with a road win against UMass, and close home losses to in-state rivals Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan.[21]

2014

8-4

2015

Fleck and WMU had the highest-rated recruiting class in the MAC for the third consecutive year.[31]

Yet..

WMU finished the 2015 regular season with a record of 7–5 (6–2 MAC)

And that was year 3

and you all give up on Herman because he has 3 losses in 2 seasons.. yet he's actually beaten much superior team with less talent. Houston is just not a good team, period..

Oh yeah I forgot..

2016

Fleck and WMU had the highest-rated recruiting class in the MAC for the fourth consecutive year.

Yeah, that's nice they are undefeated.. but they have the best recruiting class in their conference for a 4th straight year.. and he's had several losses prior.. so okay.. cool..

Why is he even dropping conference games?

And yet Herman has actually proven more both as a HC and as an OC IMO with his work as OC of OSU since 2011. IMO

Herman in his first season at Houston beat Bobby Petrino's Louisville's team, beat an SEC team (sorry one) but still Vandy 34-0, beat a decent Cincy team, beat a highly ranked Memphis?, beat a ranked Temple team?, he did drop 1 game but it was within like 3 points.. and he whipped Florida State. Pretty impressive.. considering the talent he works with.

I don't care if they drop a 3rd game to Lousville, I absolutely would want Herman right now.

Herman has proven to maximize the talent he has to work with at Ohio St, and now at Houston.

Holy cow, you are a complete idiot or you just have an agenda? It's ok for you to prefer Herman, you don't have to make yourself look stupid doing it though.

And Fleck has proven he can recruit, build a program, and get better every year.

I don't think this is true

This is irrelevant. Harbaugh, Urban, Dabo were never coordinators.

I like Herman too, if we get him then great. But if we end up with a Larry Fedora type when we could have had Fleck it will be a huge blunder.
