Read between the lines. We have someone locked up.

Alleva wouldn't be targeting any date if there was any ambiguity regarding our next coach - he would take however much time is needed to get the right guy.

The fact that sources are revealing that we're already looking at dates to make an announcement is quite revealing.

Did you just make this up? Fisher got stuck with his DC and would definitely welcome a new one.

Jimbo isn't bringing Kelly as DC, I would bet the house on it

Exactly! ZERO chance Kelly is Jimbo's DC next year.

No didn't make it up. Just based on prior Fisher quotes. Kelly sucks. Would love to see Fisher retain Aranda.

Please provide them, as he has never left a head coaching job for another head coaching job.

If it really is down to just Jimbo and O, he can go on and say that now.

Offer is on the table for Jimbo and if he says no, we know O will accept.

Absolutely pathetic if it's already down to Jimbo or O. We're a top 5-10 job in the country and we are already down to either a home run hire or a DL coach that no one else wants?

Gotta disagree, but I do think he brings Trickett

I refuse to believe O is really a leading candidate. I think they don't want the wheels to fall off of the team so they're giving him hope still. There would be no point in telling him he's not going to get the job until it's time to make the hire.

Sucks that he's going to get his dreams crushed again but this is business.

While it may be pathetic, JA has had 6-7 weeks to shop around. Maybe the contacts have said no or had baggage that LSU doesn't want or need. Or maybe Jimbo was the main target and has agreed to make the jump. I doubt JA hasn't done extensive homework on this hire.

Disagree with aranda being retained? I like Trickett. Trickett is as solid of an O. Line coach out there and Fisher's right hand guy.

LSU is a big 6, old money SEC job. Make Chip, Urban, and Herman say no. Then Jimbo or O would be a great plan B, and everyone would be okay with either one.

I agree completely. But Fisher over Herman? I like Herman, but Fisher knows LSU and its recruiting base. Not knocking Herman at all, but I sense a Saban Part deux with Herman jumping to the NFL. Might be way off.

We don't know who has been contacted. Maybe there isn't a lot of interest from the established Power 5 coaches. Just because we want a known name doesn't mean they are interested. I would like Jimbo. I am not a fan of an up and comer like Herman or Fleck. I was not sold on Coach O, but he is doing the things to make LSU successful. Still on the fence with him getting the job.
