I'm sure row the boat would have resonated well. For sure Mike Gundy knows louisiana like the back of his hand, as does Fedora et al.
I'll take a b-list coach that will leave the cupboard stacked when he's fired with little to no buyout over one that has a legitimate chance to drag the program into the middle of the pack in recruiting before he's fired.

The last two coaches to win a national championship at LSU have been complete outsiders, so I question the significance of being so familiar with the state.

Not an O fan, but he is really the best 3rd option. Jimbo and Herman say no so you're stuck. I believe O can get the job done with the proper staff.

Are you insinuating that O is a B-list division-1 college head coaching candidate? Has anyone ever even shown interest in him as a DC, much less a HC?

You have to at least make the effort of actually interviewing candidates. Maybe you unearth the next Saban. Instead Joe just goes the easy hire route.
