I think when people say he hates the media, they mean he hates the fact he has to answer stupid questions from the media about non football related crap.

his ego LOVES the media. he is the giant and mulligan taking beast he has become partly due to the media.

as an lsu fan, knowing the history and success of alabama, it was a nightmare matchup of a media darling program and a media darling coach. unstoppable right now.

Saban can do as he wishes. Unless you are his best friend, wife or agent, don't resume to know what he may desire. He had a desire to try the NFL when he had a similar situation at LSU. Who knows how this event sets with him. However, he has nothing to lose in either staying at Bama or going to the NFL. It's all open for him to do as he pleases.

My theory...LSU tears will be at an all-time high when Saban doesn't leave yet again.

I don't think he is leaving Bama until he retires, but every SEC fan base should want him to leave.

I don't see Saban going back to the NFL with the exception being if the Patriots job ever came open.

Saban recently takes about the conditions in which he would consider leaving for the NFL, kind of....one of those conditions he eluded to was needing a good QB. The Giants are the only franchise that meets this requirement. That said he wouldn't last with the NY media. They won't put up with the same BS the Tuscaloosa media puts up with, and he doesn't have the patience for it. He's going to retire at Alabama

Saban will watch tape and know that Eli sucks. Might make him think twice. But then again, he wins with crap qbs.

I thought for a long time that his failure in the pros would sort of drive him to try again but at this point in his life, I don't think it's a priority anymore.

He knows how successful he's been in the collegiate ranks.

I will say that he does always seem to have a sort of "meh" attitude the last couple times Bama has won it.

He got the Gatorade bath after the game against ND and he got livid.

He did almost the same thing last night, just not quite as ticked off.

While I think he stays as a college coach, I'm not sure it'll be at Bama until he hangs it up. But what do I know.

They keep paying him what they're paying him, it would be hard to argue with that.

he would crave the publicity frenzy that would be heaved on him in NY.

I disagree with this. Saban hates the media, hates interviews, hates being in the spotlight.

Saban will never to to NFL
He tried it and this it what he learned

He would rather be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond

Don't think it happens. Saban is not an NFL quality coach. He wins because he out talents everyone in college. At the NFL level a coach must out scheme everyone, and he just isn't good enough at that for the NFL. He's a great college coach, but just can't cut it in the big league.

He could not handle NY. Think there is media pressure in Alabama, he would bolt within two years. He rather chase Bryant.

Saban is an NFL guy. With his ego you don't think it isn't in the back of his mind about the what if's? Do I want to go into retirement and never have had a chance at winning a Superbowl? The pinnacle of all of football. I don't think it will happen but if lets say NY gives him full control. He will at least think about it. But that has to happen here quickly and if it doesn't then it won't.
