My fear: Saban is playing us, and will re-sign Kiffin between the playoffs & NSD

Kiffin said tonight that its up to coach.

So, what happens then? Do we really want to risk waiting on Nick for him to decide whats best for LSU?

So you wait until 10 days before NSD to have an offensive philosophy in place?

I can guarantee you that would happen, Sarkisian isn't going to be a consultant for another year.

Seriously who cares if we don't sign Kiffin. There are several good offensive minded coaches out there.

you think he would say he won't be back at Bama?

There are plenty of OCs out there better than what we have had the last 6-7 yrs.

frick Kiffin and that whole shadow staff. There are plenty of qualified guys out there. Widen the lens, and stop kneeling to Saban.

Yes there are. Just as there were HC candidates. We still managed to botch that one and this time O seems to have put all his eggs in the Kiffin basket.

No, but I didn't expect him to say that he and Saban had talked this week, and his returning to Bama is up to Saban. If Nick sees us dragging out the OC search by not interviewing anyone, then he may not tell Kiffin his decision until NSD

It really struck me as odd that Kiffin seemed to want back at Bama. Leaving it up to Saban

Doesn't sound like a guy committed to making a lateral move, IMHO

If Kiffin is gonna dick around and not commit then frick it. Offer Sark now. He's not coaching anything.

Saban doesn't want Kiffin to go to LSU. That makes me want him at LSU

When you hire a new HC, recruiting will always suffer, no way around it. You hire the best OC you can get, not freak out because NSD is coming up.
