“He was offered more than 4 million to become the Michigan coach,” LSU Board of Supervisors member Stanley Jacobs told the Shreveport Times. “When he said no, they came back and offered him more. And he said no again. …
“He never leveraged his offer from Michigan for more money from LSU. This guy is the real deal. He really is. He was offered more money. I was told in the $4.25 million range and turned it down. Then they came back and offered more, and he turned it down again.”

Damn, I wonder what number they would have had to hit to get him to go. 6? 7? Goddamnit, I love Les Miles.

if this is true folks need to jump on the CLM bus and stay on it for good

Look, we think Michigan made a helluva hire in Hoke, and think they may end up being better off in the long run that they didn’t land Miles. But, it’s disingenuous at best to cloak yourself in semantics when it comes to who was at the top of your to-do list.
booom!

question
how does the BOS know this?

Funny but as a parent I wonder how much his kids and wife played a part. Everyone said Sabans Wife didn't want to leave Baton Rouge. If he doesn't leave for more money at his Alma Mater guess he will be ran out of town or leave in a pine box.
Also nice to see a story where money doesn't win. Commitment, loyalty, and Pride for what he has done and what he believes he still has left to do makes it much easier to send a kid to his program than others.
Geaux Tigers.

This honestly should help recruiting in the near future knowing that we have a coach that seems to be set on staying here...that stability is something I am glad this program has right now.

my theory is once miles heard the disingenuous comments by the michigan AD he said fvck this and decided to allow the negotiations to leak.
