Really strange isn't it?

A lot of P5 teams taking chances on guys with no HC experience.

I'd make fun of this hire if I wasn't 99% certain Rutgers will do worse.

Remember when Gerry Dinardo had his "Bring Back the Magic" tour throughout the state? I attended and had a great time.

However, I think I'll pass on Maryland's controversial "Jerkin for Durkin" tour.

There were only two "sure bets" from the mid majors- Herman and Fuente. Just too many open positions and not enough supply.

PJ Fleck seems to be a homerun IMO. Recruits his balls off. Could change the fortunes of a lower tier P5 program for sure.

Should've been hired by Illinois.

why exactly? it's not like Maryland is on the level of an Alabama or Ohio St. I think this is a very good hire for them. Durkin is a good defensive mind.

Yeah, the mgoblog comments don't seem happy and people wanted another year or two. I'm butthurt about the performances against Indiana and OSU, so I'm OK with it. Just not happy he will be in the same division. I guess Grandpa Mattison can man the fort for a year or two, if necessary.
