Kiffin to LSU confirmed

Not confirmed, but looking far more likely.

Kiffin + Sark is a really good pull for Orgeron if he can get it.

honestly, that's one guy that just might be in it for the long-term as an OC.

I think so too. I don't blame him, but there is no doubt Kiffin would be looking for his next HC gig on day 1 at LSU. Helfrich has gone through the ringer as a HC at a power program. Maybe he wants a little time away from the spotlight. People complain about the last few years at Oregon. Really, I think he was just a victim of bad timing there. The rest of the country has caught up to Oregon. The crazy uniforms. The uptempo offense. Oregon used to be more of a novelty. Now that style of offense is closer to the norm, and it's being run with much better players such as the kind LSU has access to. Plus, Helfrich is a guy who had success prior to Oregon. I fully believe he could adapt to the SEC.

Kiffin is a good play-caller, no question. But I think he desperately want's a HC job, and LSU is just a temporary backup where he can come in, make a ton of money, and do whatever the hell he wants under a HC that doesn't rule with an iron-fist. Saban lords over that program like Belichek with New Engaland. No assistant is bigger than the program. Ogeron doesn't have that kind of clout and he's in no position to make Kiffin play by his rules. Saban is going to hire another HC and Bama will be fine. Ogeron NEEDS Kiffin, and Kiffin knows it. He has all the leverage in the relationship, which may not be a good thing.

Why would we get Sark too? What would his role/title be if he comes with Kiffin?

This isn't a reflection on Kiffen as a HC prospect. This happened because Applewhite is likely the only candidate that accepted the rediculous buyout.

Which is funny b/c he is one of the few coaches who would have a hard time using them as a stepping stone since he couldn't keep his dick away from student trainers while at Texas.

He has to have the least leverage out of a supposed rising star in a long arse time.

Good hire, he'll stick around for a while. Someone like Kiffin would bail at the first big opportunity.

FWIW the Houston fans I've interacted with have been hating on him for quite a while now and saw him as a weak link on Herman's staff.

Kiffin who is a one and done guy who will be constantly looking for a HC job

This comment gets me all the time. As a business owner, I strive to hire people who are looking for advancement within my company or outside of it because they make the business I own, better. Sure they may move on, but why should I limit their upward mobility if I can't fulfill their needs. If I appreciate their contribution, then it's on me to do what I can to keep them, within reason. It's my job, as the owner, to keep them in check and make sure they adhere to my expectations. Just prepare your "business" to always keep someone groomed for advancement, whether in house or by association.

Man I guess I haven't had any real reason to look the guy up in recent years so I really didn't know what he looked like. He's pretty damn fugly.
