I didn't catch who it was so sorry in advance.

But his key point was there's no way LSU is going to pay a pretty successful coach such as Les $10 mil to leave and not be prepared to do whatever it takes for a home run replacement.

Then he's says he confidently thinks it is one of the following:

Herman
Jimbo
Bob Stoops (!!!!)
David Shaw

Really wish I could have gotten his name to find if it's a trustworthy local guy or not.

How does this guy's name keep coming up? Its obvious he is happy as frick right where he is! Why would he want to come to a pressure cooker like LSU?

David Shaw isn't leaving Stanford

And even if he was willing to leave he shouldn't be in the first teir of coaches contacted.

Hes right a lot of the time. Pretty well connected. However this is purely his speculation and frankly its common sense.

I think Matt has been pretty spot on. Pick our guy and do whatever needed to get him here.

Shaw would be ironic - a guy who runs the exact offense Les thought he was running.

Shaw has turned down pro jobs for a lot more money than what LSU can pay. And he does run CLM's offense basically.

The only real comparison is that it's I formation. Shaw's running game is more of a misdirection, pulling guard, power running blend & his passing game is heavily, heavily reliant on the play-action pass, TE's and intermediate routes. Les was I formation to a certain extent but they weren't as reliant on play action - more of a timing - 3,5.7 step drop deep vertical passing game that only Dan Fouts could pull off.

I truly don't see it and would even take bets that ain't going to happen. Biggest knock is, why would we want to trade Miles offensive scheme for Shaw's offensive scheme. Shaw's offensive philosophy is the same as Miles "3 yards and a cloud of dust" why in the hell would LSU go from the pot to the frying pan??? On top of the fact zero recruiting ties in the part of the country, not saying he can't make them or hire coaches with them just saying this name "other than the fact that he has kept the program together since Harbaugh left and doing very well there" doesn't make any sense given what we just fired in Miles.

It's pretty bad arse because its a very deceptive brute force offense executed flawlessly. Stanford & LSU is not apples to apples. It's not the same offense or the same philosophy.

I've heard Shaw talk about game time decisions and he plays not to lose a lot of the time. We don't need that here again!

I don't think Shaw is on the list but to compare to Miles is not accurate. Shaw has recruited and coached some very talented qb's that make running a pro style offense more successful
