After hearing the conversation with Skip, who is the current "Sports Person" that is sitting on the LSU Board of Directors? Interesting to hear the in-depth movement of the hiring of a new coach.

I didn't hear this part, but I did hear the part where he said the hiring of a coach is never political. Skip was pumping sunshine. It might not be technically "political" where the BOS is trying to get a certain guy hired over the ADs head, but I'd say there's 1/3-1/2 of the board that thinks they're opinion matters more than any search firm. The board as a whole is 100% political. You're appointed by the gov. If your a D & a D gov appoints u, u can bet ur arse ur gone as soon as your term is up if an R gov takes over. And vice versa
My stepdad was on the board for 6years. He couldn't give 2 shits less about football. The only game he went to the whole time was 1/9/12. He had an opinion on things but it wasn't motivated by his delusional passion for LSU football. Because he didn't go to games, My wife and I sat with the BOS from 07-12. I learned a whole lotta shite in that time, lol. About half weren't there to watch, they were there to rub noses. Hell, there was barely any cheering going on except from the guests. The 2-3 that I came to know well were "sports guys". Now whether or not they thought they knew what's best and pushed it...no clue. I know the PBOS. Knew him before he got on the board. He's one of the most genuine guys I've ever met. I was a nobody and him & his wife would make it a point to come tell me hello every game. Anyway, the board has many different people on it because of and for different reasons

Just a guesstimation because I don't remember everything about that thread...id say he was 95% correct. I laid in the weeds and didn't say shite because I wasn't putting my neck out there. But I was nodding my head every time he posted. It was confirmation of my own info. Whether his motivation was to be the one who knew or just to inform, props to him. I woulda changed my username after lol

The athletic committee of the BOS is easily obtained by googling

Chatelain is the chair
Other members

Angelle ( he called the gov last year to uproot the deal )
Mcccolister
Yarbrough
Moore
Jacobs
Ballard
Anderson

Maybe one or two others

Ohhhhh, I thought by "sports guy", y'all meant a member of the BOS that was readily/enthusiastically involved in the ADs business. Didn't know y'all meant a real position, lol. My bad

Dr. Andonie would never tell the professionals in athletics what they should do. He just wanted to the Tigers to win.

The "sports person" at the time was Stanley Jacobs.
