Anybody think this is a possibility? Mullen's days could be numbered and I think those guys would be thrilled to have a coach like Les Miles. Spare me the crap of how LSU fans thinks he's terrible. He's better than anything that's been at Moo State in recent memory. Les already having a presence in e recruiting area would be a plus for them as well.

There is no way Mullen is getting fired.

Isn't he only under contract through 2018? What's his buyout? Seems like he has been pretty awful other than when he had Dak.

I actually could see State having their "David Cutcliffe" moment. New AD. A bad season. And in-state rival still having success in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

I don't think Les's ego would allow him to compete against his old SEC foes--and his successor--with such an inferior team. Maybe I'm wrong. But we'll never know because State isn't firing Mullen and he's certainly not gonna get another job this offseason.

That would be a joke if they did. Miss. St. people should know what their program historically is

Miss state has pretty low expectations as a program. It would take multiple losing seasons in a row for him to start feeling any heat. And it's unfair to evaluate him sans dak. He recruited and developed dak. This is a player most big programs wanted as a tight end.

Thunder Dan will be there as long as he wants.

Yea it makes no sense to discount Mullen's success with Dak. He shouldn't be penalized for recruiting and developing a good QB like some posters (LSU fans ) seem to believe.

Mullen will not be fired.

Part of Cutcliffe's problem at Ole Miss was the perception (whether rightly or wrongly) that any coach could have had the success he enjoyed with Eli Manning. And it's not like Cutcliffe could be given much credit for recruiting Eli, since he was headed to Ole Miss no matter who the coach was.

Miles is not recruiting like he did at LSU either.

And he will not have a blank check to hire big time coaches to coach positions. A wrong position coach/coordinator hire at MSU will cost you a lot of games. We know their ST would be garbage because BDP would crawl on his face to Starkville to catch Les' turds.

If Les took that job, trotted that offense out on the field, it would be a monumental disaster at MSU.

He's 63 years old. He's not changing.

I don't think they will fire Mullins. So perhaps Mullins can hire Miles as his new offensive coordinator, since Miles did such an outstanding job on offense and especially when it came to developing quarterbacks while at LSU.

Les is way to smart to coach in SEC west at a 2nd echelon school!
