"He should give them another yr". That was the point an "NFL insider" made this morning on one of the talk shows. It was this insider's educated opinion that he would give Penn St.one more yr simply because of how he went out of his way to praise the team members who decided to ride it out.

Then for the first time in a very long while, I will not attend an Auburn game.

Are y'all planning on buying a new QB with all this money saved from not getting a new coach?

that was for the NFL, Auburn can't afford the buyouts

Umm, we have up to $17M set aside right now that could be used for the Chiz buyout and the new coach.

I think we can afford whatever we want.

I bet that sounded clever to you before you posted it.

This is why Auburn fans want both of the clowns gone. Jay Jacobs is, literally, good for nothing. We are terrible in every sport, and I am baffled he won't be fired with Chizik. They should fricking prance out of the door holding hands while Loeffler carries their books and office supplies. I just can't take this anymore. It's unbelievable.

Maybe they're just trying to keep the team somewhat focused for the Iron Bowl?

I don't think that can be trusted. I don't know what Auburn plans to do, but I know we heard a lot of crap like "Hart is a fan of Dooley" or "the people in power think Dooley deserves another year" and there was simply no truth to that whatsoever.

Is O'Brien getting too much credit for the job that he has done this year in a very weak Big 10? He may be a good coach, but this is first year as a HC and I feel like he is getting a little too much credit. Yes, PSU had a terrible offseason and there was a lot of drama.

I remember another former New England OC who had a terrific first year and flamed out because he didn't know how to run a college program. Just throwing it out there.

Weis had very little experience at the college level before going to the pros ('85-'88). O'Brien was in the college ranks from '93-'06. O'Brien also had a way shorter period of time he was away from the college game than Weis. Very different college experiences between the two before becoming head coaches.

That's true, but why the frick would anyone think that Jacobs has any pull anymore when it comes to coaching decisions?

There is no reason for him to be a OC anywhere.
