Wow! I bet the NCAA is already rounding up a group to send to FAU with this collection of coaches and players.

Sources: FAU to hire Baylor OC Kendal Briles to same position | Adam Rittenberg | ESPN
quote:

...ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit first reported the hire, noting that Briles will have full control of the offense and the playcalling duties as Kiffin focuses more on overseeing the entire program...

An NCAA infractions committee panel on Wednesday confirmed that Briles and another Baylor assistant, wide receiver coach Tate Wallis, had committed recruiting infractions by exceeding the number of allowed evaluations with two prospects and having impermissible contact with a prospect. The panel upheld Baylor's self-imposed penalties on Briles and added only a $5,000 fine, ensuring he could seek employment without any recruiting or coaching restrictions.

FAU checked with the NCAA and Baylor and found no issues, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.

In fact, Baylor officials told FAU it had "no information that would disqualify Briles from [continuing to work] at Baylor," a source told McMurphy...

Lol I don't understand the self-demotions going on here. What a terrible decision by both of these guys!

So... FAU made a better HC hire and maybe a better OC hire than LSU?

Hide yo kids hide yo wife. Those Boca girls really better be on high alert now. Joey Freshwater's game is strong but with a Briles to help him cover it up? Elite level shenanigans are about to ensue

Maybe

Maybe not

But FAU definitely has a better staff than Arkansas, and that's not up for debate

Kiffin wanted a HC gig; only offer he got. Briles was not going to be retained at Baylor. Maybe it was the only offer Briles got. Briles might get to take over as HC there if/when Kiffin moves on, or he may get an OC job offer from a major program next year. It's also an oppotunity for both of them to gain some good Xs & Os knowledge from each other.

two years tops these guys will be on probation. I can imagine the types of players these two coaches will be bringing in. Kiffin already signed QB who knocked some girl out at the club. They will be scouting top players in juco im sure with similar past. Its all about the winning and nothing else matters. Kiffin is thrash and he will probably win but i can imagine some of the players he will have playing for him.

He was a much better coach at USC than Kiffin also.

Kiffin went 4-7 in his last 11 games as USC's head coach. He was fired on the airport tarmac early one morning after a blow out loss.

Orgeron took over that team after Kiffin was fired and went 6-2. Including a win against #4 Stanford.

Kiffin has been fired from every head coaching job he has had except one. And that's only because he left after one season. I don't know if he was a CEO type at USC or not. C-USA has some pretty good teams so I don't think people should assume FAU will take over the conference.
