Maybe we should ask President Elect Hillary Clinton for her prediction.

Then say, "in my opinion" I can't see that happening. That is different from 100% he will not be at lsu.

Move on to what? The next new bitch/melt fest? As soon as this 'problem' is solved, another one will come up that will cause major unnecessary melting

And herbstreit is wrong... trust me

He talked about it as if it was done, signed, sealed, delivered. It's not like he was just giving an opinion. He said "Les Miles will be the next head coach at Michigan." Not sure why you're getting so worked up about it. All I'm asking for is a shred of journalistic integrity

lost all respect when he reported miles to michigan done deal.

Right after that happened they really clamped down on breaking coaching changes/rumors early. Other outlets woukd put it out, like Yahoo, but ESPN would sit on it until they were 100% sure after the Herbie debacle.

And by all accounts Miles to Michigan was a done deal. Miles changed his mind. To act as if what he said has zero merit or as if he had no "journalistic integrity" is just flat out wrong.

So... it wasn't a done deal. Unless done deal now means something completely different than an actual done deal. He said Les will be the next head coach. He was not the next head coach. Herbstreit was premature and 100% wrong. It's not a debate

so every single statement that any commentator gives that's not an absolute fact needs to be prefaced with "in my opinion"???

Good lord, fella, it's implied. If Kirk were breaking actual news, he'd label it as news. Everything else is his opinion, and we all know that.

Your post is nonsense.

Oh sorry: in my opinion, your post is nonsense.

You are so dense. They are paid to report what is going to happen not wait until everyone knows and then tell you. Did it happen? No Im sure you have never said something was going to happen and it didn't. I never said he was right. I said that people stating that they don't take anything he says as right because one time he went with info from a good source and it didn't pan out. I promise there is not a single journalist ever in the history of American journalism that was never wrong about something. That doesn't mean they didn't have good info or journalistic integrity. It means shite changes. By your logic, there would be no weather reports ever. Those frickers are never right. But you keep watching them. We don't live in a black and white world. There is a lot of grey area.

I'm not a journalist.

You keep moving the goal posts. All I'm arguing is that he was in fact wrong in this instance. Never said he can no longer be trusted or doesn't have good sources.

You sure are #madonline about this

Neither is Herbstreit. Is is a color guy who is paid for his opinion and expert analysis.

You said he has no integrity? And that he should never say anything until it is a done deal. Plus I never said Miles went to UM therefore I never said his info was correct.

Well he maybe he shouldn't have put on his reporter/journalist pants that day and try to break a story that wasn't true.

No, I'm saying in this instance he displayed a lack of journalistic integrity. People make mistakes. I'm not saying the guy can't be trusted or is a POS or anything. I actually think he's one of ESPN's best assets.
