But somehow we're the type of program that's still negating other options while he's busy exhausting all other options before using us as a fall back option.

This is exactly what I've come to expect with our admin.

For fcks sake. You and have the board would be screaming like teenage girls if we weren't trying to get Kiffin.
Nick Saban, the best coach in college football, asked him to be on his staff. That's not the sign of someone who is an idiot.
Kiffin is probably asking for too much money or no buyout clause or something, which is why he may not be getting offers.

Riley is looking for a HC job, too. Would you pass on him as an OC? Most top OCs are going to receive interest in HC jobs; especially one that comes to LSU and turns our offense around in one season.

Actually, I've been pretty staunchly against Kiffin. I don't think he'd be here long term and I don't care for his offense. I've seen Saban get in his arse a number of times to get back to running the ball.

It really shows how great of a coach Saban is to keep Kiffin's antics and what leaks out about bama under control. The guy is a ticking time bomb and I'd like to know the story behind his divorce. There were so many rumors about freshwater and then the divorce, so there's no telling what happened.

That's a plus to hiring him as a coordinator.

There must be something I'm not understanding. Lane was rumored to be nailing co-eds for a while. That isn't very noble, but doesn't seem overly complicated either.

A ton of rumors were flying, a big booster wife, Saban's daughter(obviously far-fetched), co-eds. He can't control his ego or his pants, just a disaster waiting to happen again.

Why would he leave Oklahoma?? He's not leaving anytime soon unless he gets a P5 job. Hence why he took his name out of consideration from Houston. He was Houstons #1 choice. He has Mayfield returning too. He's not coming to LSU unless he's the head coach.

I think he, and everyone else, is starting to realize that he tarnished really bad right now. He's getting turned down for small programs right now. Part of that could be money and buyouts but still he seems desperate and like he'd take anything. Sabans word can't even overcome his negatives.

This may benefit us if he keeps it together. With the way his rep needs improving he could be here 2-3 years. I'm not a fan of him and don't really want him here but it seems destined at this point. Just hope it's not a repeat of his and Os last couple of stops.

No, but he's not coming.

Offensive coordinator at LSU is hardly a coronation. He'll be just fine at Oklahoma until he gets a HC opportunity.

This reminds me of a Dennis Miller riff from 20 years ago. To paraphrase for the relevant situation?

We should view a reunion of Lane and Orgeron like a reunion of East and West Germany. Most of us aren't fans of their earlier work together and don't really want to see any of their new material.

It would be a mistake to assume that Lane was the only one messing around.

Controversy surrounds Land Kiffin as the youngest head coach hire in NFL and Major College.

Fired after one season by Al Davis who called Kiffin "a flat-out liar … bringing disgrace to the organization".

Kiffin was issued a public reprimand by SEC commissioner for accusing Florida’s Urban Meyer of recruiting violations only to have the commissioner cite him for the same then shame Kiffin into apologizing to Meyer.

Kiffin told Alshon Jeffery he would end up pumping gas if he went to SC Gamecocks. Jeffery went onto SC and is currently with the Bears, who prior to this year applied the franchise tag to Jeffery.

Kiffin left the Tennessee head coaching job in just one season leaving for Southern Cal. Students tried to block Kiffin’s exit from the football facility and then set the place on fire in response to Kiffin’s departure.

Kiffin returned to USC from 2010-2013, later fired by Pat Haden who decided to rid the university of its coach during the half-time of a 62-41 loss at Arizona State. The team was in total disarray until Orgeron took over reviving their season and finishing 6-2
