That would be bad news. He basically just stopped doing anything other than on-field coaching towards the end of his time at SMU. No recruiting, not even sending his staff out to recruit.
They need a guy that can recruit the islands and the Cali JUCOs. Wide open offense fits them. I want them to be good again because sometimes I want to stay up to see a game at 1AM.

yea, he took over as interim when they canned Norm Chow.
honestly, I think they would be better off hiring him for the main gig than they would be w/a second round of June. At least he's young and has some fire in his belly.

Duane Akina should be their coach. Fiery as hell and has been both an OC and DC (rare in coaching to hold down both of these jobs). Great recruiter too.
