Sexton is good when his clients have leverage.

Steele has none.

Do you people know what leverage is?

Lsu is working to keep him as we speak. He has more leverage than you think. Les gonna have a hard time hiring a dc after what just happened with alleva. Steele knows it.

Hard time hiring a veteran DC but not a new guy who wants an opportunity. (I know that's not what Cat wants to hear)

If we give this dude more money it's insane.

NO ONE SHOULD WANT TO HEAR THAT!

We aren't Toledo. We are LSU. We are a top 5 program. We need to hire a proven DC. PERIOD.

Ed O would probably take a raise to be the DC...

This is one of the most asinine positions I see repetitively taken by Tiger fans.

We hired a "proven" HC* when we had an outstanding promote-from-within HC prospect. The Seminoles hired a top-notch OC and gave him the coach-in-waiting title.

Guess who got the better coach?

*Supposed "proven" HC was mediocre, at BEST, unless and until T Boone basically forced him to hire Gundy and let Gundy call plays...now with no one to force him to let his OC call plays, we get repetitive scapegoated OCs and no offensive imagination (tho, last night's added wrinkles were a welcome change).

so we shoulda handed the keys to Jimbo in 05? c'mon son. wasn't happening.

and this is from someone who holds Jimbo in pretty high regard and ain't Leslie's biggest fan. Nick himself prob didn't think Jimbo was ready.

what would Nick opinion have to do with it?

He went to FSU and was basically coach from the kick off

Bobby was at the buffet with the boosters

FSU went 7-6*, 9-4, 7-6, 10-4, 9-4 with zero conference titles and no BCS bowl appearances in Jimbo's first 5 seasons in Tally. (* Official record was 0-6 due to NCAA-vacated wins, but that wasn't really Jimbo's fault)

LSU went 12-2, 8-5, 9-4, 11-2, 13-1 over the same stretch, with two BCSCG appearances, one BCS title, and two SEC titles.

Still think you should have hired Jimbo in '05?
